Dear CarPC Team,
I was able to update the device by connecting it to my PC and it works correctly on an Android emulator. However, it still doesn't work in my Volvo XC60 nor in other cars with Android Auto. I have also searched on forums for solutions regarding the Volvo XC60 without success.
Therefore, I kindly request that an expert from your team supervises my case and provides me with a solution.
Thanks
(@jamskys) Juan, which Modell year is your XC60? If older than MJ2021 please ask your Volvo dealer to upgrade your head unit.
In case there is no new upgrade (or it doesn't work after upgrading) make sure there is no active Bluetooth connection! CarPC has to be connected to the USB port and has to be the only one which wants to connect. If not starting automatically search for Android Auto button on the head unit screen. Good luck and stamina to find a solution.
Bye for now Fred
@ap756-fred Thank you very much for your answer. The car is updated after the annual review in January 2023. I have tried to connect the device without another bluethoot device near the car and it does not work either. I have tried the device in another car and it doesn't work either...
I do not know what to do. I don't see that the after-sales service works, they refer me to the community in the forum who solves the problems
I'm pretty disappointed
@jamskys Juan, I have no XC60 and cant test what I suggest: There must be a way somewhere in the head unit settings to tell your car that an Android Auto unit wants to connect using a wired connection. Sometimes (mostly) this is performed automatically, but in some cases you have the help your head unit. Sometimes it helps to restart the head unit (usually holding the power button for 10-15 seconds). Sorry, no big help for now, I know, but keep in mind, CarPC firmware still is in beta state...

Hi, I've just installed the 2.5.18 firmware, but I confirm that nothing happens on my XC60.
To verify my CarPC, I installed Crankshaft on a Pi4, and it works.
Please help
@sebastien CarPC has to be the master, XC60 head unit has to be the slave. The connection has to be wired (no wireless) but it seems your Volvo does not accept a wired connection (like some BMW and some Mercedes). For the time being there is no solution for this and I don't know if AndroidAuto protocol will handle this anytime soon.

Ciao Ragazzi,

@ap756-fred bonjour, la connexion est bien filaire sur mon Xc60 2018
Translation added: @ap756-fred hello, the connection is well wired on my Xc60 2018
@sebastien, thank you for your comment. You prove that CarPC has some connection problem with (your) Volvo. I've got no XC60, so I searched the Internet for info regarding Volvo XC60 (and others). For all of you who encounter problems please follow this guide and report at which point you fail: Volvo english Volvo french. It might be a good idea to ask your Volvo dealer.

Hi all
@ap756-fred , I am at this point:
Greyed-out/illuminated icons
If the icon for Apple® CarPlay®1 or Android Auto is greyed out, this means no device is connected. When you connect your device the icon will be illuminated. If the icons are not visible at all then the car does not have support for Smartphone Integration.
My Android Auto button is greyed out when I connect CarPC.
I have been using a Xiaomi phone before, with Screen2Auto, and it was working flawlessly until it's USB connection has broken, so the car is AA compatible. Anyway, will try againt but I have been trying leaving it connected more than 1 hour with no success.
Thank you very much for your help, it's much apreciated.
Will update if I finally acomplish to use CarPC in my car.
Thanks again.
When you connect CarPC to your Volvo does it show steady blue or yellow lights after about 30 seconds? If there is no light there is no power...

Hi,
@ap756-fred , there are lights, and the dongle is working. I know this because I have been able to connect to it with scrcpy wirelessly, so I can confirm that there is power and the dongle is up and running, but my car does nothin when I connect it.
I am using the same cable that I use to connect it to my computer, but nothing happens.
I even flashed it today, is the same firmware version but I wanted to try, but I had same vehabiour, nothin appears in the car's screen.
I am frustrated 🙁
Thanks for your help.
I am going to check now if I get orange light on the car, will let you know.
