Hi Guys! Our admin Fred will be posting the beta firmware here shortly. He's worked hard on providing feedback to our dev team and now we'd like to release it so you can also give us more input.
Note: if you already received your PRO unit, you must do the FW update manually. For the units that we are shipping out today, and after you update manually, there will be subsequent OTA updates.
THanks!
Make sure to check our the AADongle PRO review thread as well: https://carpc.co/community/reviews-section/carpc-pro-first-impressions/
Hi all, I tried the latest update on my CarPC Pro and I have to say it gets better and better. It's still beta due to the fact that there are still some bugs and incompatibilities in this release. but we decided to give everyone the chance to find faults (and report them here). It's a long journey up to this point but development goes on. Here it is:
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1L9hKVgKMSumnBuQEFJNSF_nkn8wBBmX6?usp=share_link
Note: This is a big step, so you should do a "clean setup" as described below. Please backup all data you want to keep, because the flashing does an automatic factory reset (all data and programs will be lost)
Please download 4G-carpc.zip (1.68 GB) and unzip it to your PC. Inside of the 4G-carpc folder there is another folder called C109-carpc-Upgrade information, please open and you'll find all you need to upgrade. If you never flashed a CarPC please run DriverInstall.exe This willl take a while, don't get nervous (it removes a lot of drivers to update them). Reboot your computer and navigate to the folder SP_Flash_Tool_exe_Windows_v5.1920_MT6762, enter that folder and start flash_tool.exe as administrator (right click on the program and select "as administrator"). There will be an error message, just click ok and the program starts. We do have to select (choose) MT6765_Android_scatter.txt located in C:\4G-carpc\C109-carpc-Upgrade information\Software version\Rev2.4.86_221222.user.dual_mic.secure.eng.aauto.demo.mackchoi\image (depends on where you have expanded the zip file).
Select "Firmware upgrade" and then click the Download button. Now insert your CarPC into the USB port and start to wait. After 2 to 5 minutes (depends on your Windows PC) there will be a check mark telling you that the flashing process finished (see pic2). Remove CarPC, close SPFlash tools and reinsert CarPC into your USB on the computer (if you have installed Mirroid or Vysor) or insert it in your car's USB and the long wait begins. Your CarPC probably restart several times to install all software (there will be a yellow circle rotating) and finally restarts after 5-20 minutes showing a steady blue LED.
Update is finished. You have to set your time zone, language, probably time, connection to your phone (if you dont use the internal SIM card), you can check and reinstall all your programs and data and you can start helping the community to find errors and misbehaviors :-). Looking forward to your reports.
Already known bugs: Youtube doesn't work (use browser), Time zone can't be set in CarPC settings (use Android settings), SW version isn't shown, doesn't connect to my brand new Toyota - older Toyota works without problems.
Bye for now Fred
Great Post! We'll hopefully have the Youtube issue sorted out for sure in next update! I wonder if others also have the Youtube player issue. Several more units shipped, so we should be getting feedback in around 2 more weeks.Hi all, I tried the latest update on my CarPC Pro and I have to say it gets better and better. Youtube issue and other issues have been fixed. If you did the firmware update via PC, you should now be able to do the OTA update...
@ap756-fred will email you the link now. There isn't an OTA update notice for you now?
No. Rev2.4.86_221222 is the latest software I got and this doesn't fix OTA, YouTube and connect to Toyota MJ22.

@admin I can't get Android Auto to run in the car. When I connect the dongle to my computer, it comes up just fine. I also see a message stating Android Auto will not run without updating Google Play services. But I am unable to update Google Play Services. already I'm with 2.4.88.update
@mamdouh Natsheh, CarPC tries to connect to your head unit, but the transfer protocol doesn't recognize the CarPC. The implementation of Android Auto seems to be still buggy or at least different/not managable with your car...
Please ask your dealer if this is a known problem or if there is an update for your head unit and/or wait for the developers to work around the bugs with more cars.
Regarding Google Play services update: I updated to 2.4.88 today. Everything works as before, Youtube works too, other bugs are still there (no SW ID in System information, no screen lock = no VPN services etc.). Most important: Google Play service seems to be up to date (version 20.09.20 (040406-434869283), there is no update available through Play Store. Due to the fact, that I flashed the full ROM in "upgrade" mode the system performed a factory reset. Maybe this is the solution for you?

@mamdouh your stereo must have wired android auto factory installed. I think in your email you told us your Mercedes' stereo doesn't have Android Auto factory installed.
