Hello dear friends, the new update is available : version 2.6.28 (06,11,2025). Enjoy.
Great. Thanks for letting us know. And thanks to the developers, they still seem to be around ;-)
Bye for now Fred
Good evening dear friends, the latest Android auto 14.7.152544 has just been released and it works perfectly on our carpc pro.
@ap756-fred Hello, I recently acquired a new 4G sim card and put it in the carpc pro. Miracle, all the applications work perfectly: maps, Waze, GPS test... unfortunately I cannot make phone calls, worse than that the module heats up too much and quickly, forcing me to disconnect it quickly. I do not want to go back to the days of connecting via bluetooth which is very slow given that the wifi access point of my Google pixel 9 pro XL is not picked up by carpc. Is there a solution to the overheating? Thank you.
@mistermda The overheating was reported back in 2023 (at the time the GSM module was included) and there seems to be no soulution. The heat dissipation is limited due to the compact design and too less cooling area. With the given design there is no possibility to change that. It might be improved by intelligent use of software, but it can't be cured. Sorry mate.
If you can't find a way to build a hotspot running 2.4 GHz on your phone you are bust. My recommendation: Use a really cheap Android phone in your car to provide the hotspot. All functions you need are provided and heat dissipation of the CarPC will be back to "acceptable".
Bye for now Fred
@ap756-fred Hello, regarding the overheating caused by the SIM card, I tried this trick: after booting up and once the clock is set and navigation has started (almost always Sygic), I put it in airplane mode and it works! The CarPC Pro isn't as hot as before.
Unfortunately, I noticed that with this latest update 2.6.28, it's impossible to make or receive phone calls, but text messages are.
I just tried a sim from another operator and it works perfectly, I was able to make and receive phone calls, but not with the sim from my operator, weird. Let's not talk about the overheating...it gets really hot and I put it in airplane mode to protect it. I don't know if it is possible to open it and leave it without its case and thus allow the heat to escape more easily.
