For past few week, I can't get Dongle to boot. I insert the Dongle to the USB in my car, I see it start with Blue LED, but then it turns Orange and stays there without changing back to Blue as it did before.
I checked the Dongle on my PC, I can access the drive and see the content, but it will not boot completely. Tried MirroiD and Vysor, still nothing.
I haven't updated it to the latest firmware 2.6.22, so wondering if that is causing the issue.
Any assistance would be appreciated.
Thanks
Sokpan
@socrpan, orange light means that the CarPC "thinks" your cars headunit is a PC. If you can't get it to work on Vysor or Mirroid it's time to restore from scratch (which needs some time and kills your setup). Please follow the instructions _here_ and apply the latest OTA update. This way is proved and works.
Bye for now Fred
@ap756-fred Ok seems it is working again and got it updated to latest OTA. I assume Android Auto not updating is the known issue we faced few times before, right?
Thanks
Sokpan
@sokrpan Good news, thanks for letting us know. And most likely you are correct, Android Auto seems to be an "unstable way" (because they change whenever they like) to operate any dongle. As others found out installing the actual copy of Android Auto over the fixed version helps at least for now.
Bye for now Fred
@ap756-fred Thanks again. Question, what is "actual copy of Android Auto", is this sideloading the latest apk?
Thanks
Sokpan
@sokrpan As you can read -here_ getting the latest copy of Android Auto apk (beta) seems to help a lot. The latest updates you can find _here_. Click on the latest file (usually the last one in the list), another window opens, scroll down (you can use the "Scroll to available downloads" shortcut), click on the first available version (should be for arm64-v8a) and then "download apk" a bit down on the page. As of today (11.02.2025) the latest version is 13.4.657214-release (134657214). Just beware of the numerous wrong download buttons which try to install other software...
Bye for now Fred
Good evening dear friends, the latest version of Android auto is 13.7.650604 which I just installed 3 days ago and it works perfectly, no more reverse gear bug which reappeared with version 13.6. Good night
Good evening, just a little reminder: the latest version of Android auto has just been released: 13.8.150744. I just tested it on my carpc pro and it works perfectly.
@mistermda cual estas utilizando ahora?
He probado la ultima version y se queda en bucle el inicio, y esa que pones tu no quiere instalarse.
English please (if you want to get an answer and want to help others):
@mistermda, which one are you using now?
I tried the latest version, and it keeps getting stuck on startup, and the one you installed won't install.
@oaks After trying versions 13.9 and 14 of Android Auto, the CarPC remains in a boot loop. Keep 13.8 while waiting for the major CarPC firmware update.
Por hablar, me ha aparecido la actualización 2.6.26 y he puesto el Android auto 14.0.651204 y a funcionar.
A tardado bastante en arrancar, pero todo OK
COMMENT: This is no English... I translated for you (using translate.google.com):
By the way, I got the 2.6.26 update, and I installed Android Auto 14.0.651204 and it's working.
It took a while to boot, but everything's fine.
