@auc6epr This seems to be a problem with Android Auto flashed to CarPC. Don't ask me why, but a factory reset doesn't clear Android Auto settings. Because my CarPC decided to work again I can't test clearing Android Auto cache, which also might help. At least I know that reflashing with "Firmware Upgrade" worked for me, don't know, how long... A bit confusing - that's beta testing 😎 .
Bye for now Fred
Thank you for sharing your experience, Fred!
I'm not sure which is better: waiting for the patch, if it ever appears, or trying to flash it yourself and risking bricking the device.
Do the developers respond in this thread?
Thx.
@auc6epr The developers are not present (as far as I know), they are invisible. If we are lucky @admin will see this thread and will forward the information. Sometimes this worked before... If you have some spare time and you won't care about loosing some data you should reflash (follow the procedure I described somewhere in the forum), this is a safe procedure and worked numerous times without any problems.

@ap756-fred I appreciate your help! With you, I'm not as lonely on this forum:)
Ahah! I am a victim of that update as well - I just posted a new topic to that effect, and my very lame attempt at actually using it...
I am going to switch to using my my phone, rather than my in-car hotspot, to get things started.
FRED - I'm not clear on the source of the updated firmware - I'd love to get a tutorial on that - source/link, recommended procedure, tips, etc. Any help there?
Thanks Fred
I have installed Vysor - nice to be able to get access on the laptop.
As soon as you give me access, I'll check out what you've sent, and in the meantime, I've done a complete reset, updated my settings, and paired it with my phone.

Thanks Fred... I was lazy... I hoped that an update might solve the problem, and I see that it did. I'm now running 2.5.10, and subject to actually using it, it seems to be working.
Sorry for the absence, I figured I'd give it some time to see if this problem affected others and hopefully a solution was created. I haven't tried flashing it yet. I see Mr. Ford has gotten his unit to work agian, and it looks like he did so without flashing. Is that correct?
@metalt75 , you didn't wait long enough to see any progress ;-). BUT now we know there is some "self healing", which makes CarPC working again after a couple of failed restarts. Still no 2.5.10 complete ROM though. Just try using CarPC and eventually it will work again (be patient).

@ap756-fred GPS is worse now than previous roms. Do you know if there is a solution to this?
@tiosanturzi, Javier, for me GPS in the latest firmware is much more responsive, but yes, accuracy is still not up to the competition. There is no solution for that (except hoping for the next firmware release to improve again). If you desperately need GPS try to use your phones GPS "injected" to CarPC.
