Hello,

I got my dongle on 22 of June, and started testing it immediately, I noticed the following:

1- The unit becomes very hot within few minutes even though A/C in the car is always On.

2- The unit starts hanging and crashing repeatedly and it's response is very slow. In short it is useless.

3- I did upgrade it to the latest available firmware from this forum but nothing changed.

3- When I tried to contact the manufacturer from Kickstarter web site, they took long time to respond and they only advised me to write my concerns here in this forum!

So can I expect a solution here?

Thanks

Ammar, I don't think people here on the forum can provide a fully functioning solution, but at least they can try 😊 .

CarPC by design is working without active cooling. Due to that and out of experience this leads to heating - depending on the programs you are running. The slow response you mentioned is a sign that some of your programs are working against each other producing lots of unnecessary heat.

Please do a factory reset (available in the settings menu) and then install the programs you want to run one by one. If we know which program stops CarPC to work in a correct manner we can find a solution.

Sorry to hear CarPC isn't an "out of the box" experience for you. After some tweaking (even rooting is possible) it should work for you. The development isn't finished yet - no estimation how long it will take. Stay with the forum, discuss here and realize you are not alone.B

Bye for now  Fred

@ap756-fred thank you for your feedback.

Actually I didn't install any apps yet, only the things came built in. The unit becomes extremely hot immediately and even without running any app!
