Hello, I just changed my smartphone, now I have a pixel 9 pro xl instead of my Honor. I notice that the carpc does not pick up the pixel's wifi (wifi access point), I even put the wifi without code and still nothing, while it worked with the Honor and all other smartphones before. Thank you for your help. And regarding Android auto, limit yourself to version 13.8 since later versions 13.9 and 14 do not work and will block the carpc.

(@mistermda), first please try to use 2.4 GHz (instead of 5 GHz). It seems to be a problem with Pixel 9 pro. If you still can't connect, try to establish a Bluetooth hotspot. Let us know what you did as workaround. Thanks

Bye for now  Fred

@ap756-fred Hello, I noticed that even Samsung smartphones do not pick up the wifi from my pixel's access point unless I put it in safe mode, then it picks up through the carpc and other smartphones. I was able to connect carpc via pixel bluetooth but it is very slow, I do not know how I am going to make the carpc pick up the wifi from the pixel 9 pro xl again. Thank you.

@mistermda This description might be a bit different from Pixel,  because I use another brand Android 14 phone (and some others too): Switch on hotspot on your phone. Settings - Network and Internet - Hotspot an tethering - Wi-Fi hotspot - Security WPA2-Personal (don't forget to set a password. Then start Settings on CarPC. Select Mobile Phone: Android Phone and then Next. If no connection shows up, just go back and select Next again (!). Usually this will refresh the screen. Connect to your hotspot (you might need the password) and select Completed. Works for me 100%.

Look _here_ to automate the procedure. Another way is to use "WiFi Auto Hotspot" from PlayStore (free program). One time setup and it works. Hope that helps

Bye for now  Fred

@ap756-fred Good evening, unfortunately it doesn't work, but the wifi access point of this pixel is only picked up by a single latest generation laptop, not even smart TVs or even the latest Samsung S25 that I tested in a Samsung store. I find myself stuck now with a carpc pro without wifi. And I didn't quite understand the method you described to me. I tried to deactivate the wifi of the carpc and reactivate it in vain.

@mistermda That's the reason I suggested to limit the hotspot transfer to 2.4 GHz because the 5 GHz might be incompatible (WiFi 6).

The next tip was: If you can't see any hotspot on your CarPC, go back a step and try again. Reason is that the program to select the hotspot is too slow, just "back" and "next" the program is ready and will pick up the hotspot.

@ap756-fred Good evening, the problem is that there is either 2.4 + 5GHz and 6GHz, no way to use only 2.4 and I believe that this pixel was not intended for the Moroccan market.

@mistermda Another idea: Try to use a different hotspot program and look if that works for you.

@ap756-fred Unfortunately it doesn't work, it seems that the frequency of the access point is not compatible with my devices.

@ap756-fred Hello, the pixel 9 pro xl emits its wifi access point in 802.11 ax protocol, which corresponds to wifi 6, totally unknown to classic devices including the carpc, unlike the good old 802.11n protocol which corresponds to the 2.4 GHz frequency. Unfortunately the pixel does not allow broadcasting only 2.4 GHz. Too bad.

@mistermda First of all, there are some problems with Pixel 9 XL phones (see _here_). It seems to be a known problem ("Our software update is being released in phases. New features will gradually roll out across all regions. Stay tuned for updates."). So you need a workaround.

Copied from Internet: Open Settings > Connections > Mobile Hotspot and Tethering. If you don't see these options, open Settings > Network & internet > Hotspot & tethering. Tap Mobile Hotspot > Configure > Band or Wi-Fi hotspot. If 5 GHz is chosen, tap 2.4 and limit the transfer.

I' sure there is a way to LIMIT your hotspot even on Pixel to 2.4 GHz and then CarPC connects to that. You can't use 5 GHZ for now.

@ap756-fred Unfortunately on this damn pixel the 2.4 comes coupled with the 5 GHz and there is no way to transmit on the 2.4 only, that's the problem. 2.4 only, that's the problem.

@mistermda Never say never again :-). What about looking on the Internet for a solution? I am able to look for that, so you are too. The problem is definitive your Google Pixel (!) and I already sent you the link where you can monitor updates. Did you miss to look here? https://support.google.com/pixelphone/thread/292984398/pixel-9-pro-xl-wifi-issue?hl=en

Good luck. There is a solution, you just have to look for. Bye for now  Fred

@ap756-fred Finally I resigned myself to connecting my carpc pro via bluetooth to the pixel while waiting for a smartphone update to resolve the access point problem, despite the slowness of this connection, but it's still better than nothing.
